HDMI Audio Not Working on Acer Chromebox CXI3 (Windows 11)

System Details

  • Device: Acer Chromebox CXI3 (Sion)
  • OS: Windows 11
  • Firmware Type: UEFI Full ROM only

Summary of the Issue

Hello everyone,

I recently installed Windows 11 on my Acer Chromebox CXI3 and have run into an issue with HDMI audio output. Despite installing all the free drivers available on the Coolstar website as well as via Windows Update, HDMI audio is still not functional.

The Coolstar screenshots indicate that HDMI audio should be supported free of cost, so I’m wondering if I’ve missed a step.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  1. Installed all Coolstar free drivers
  2. Applied all Windows Update drivers.
  3. Updated Intel Graphics driver from intel website
  4. Verified in Device Manager — but I don’t see Intel Display Audio or a similar HDMI audio device listed.

Has anyone successfully enabled HDMI audio on Windows 11? Any guidance or confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

you don’t need coolstar’s drivers for HDMI audio, uninstall/completely remove them as they are likely conflicting
