Have installed OS, want to switch

System Details

  • Device: Nautilus
  • OS: KUbuntu 25.10 (Switching to CachyOS 26.04 or LUbuntu 26.04)
  • Firmware Type: UEFI Full Rom
  • Firmware Version: 2603.2
  • Internal storage type: eMMC

Summary of the Issue

When booting from a Ventoy SD Card running the CachyOS ISO, it says “SGX disabled or unsupported by BIOS”, then it gets stuck on running hooks (memdisk, archiso, archiso_loop_mnt, archiso_pxe_common, archiso_pxe_nbd, archiso_pxe_http, archiso_pxe_nfs), then in the LUbuntu ISO it has the errors “invalid magic number” and “you need to load the kernel first”. Another device has no issue running those ISOs.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Try to install either ISO

Expected Behavior

Able to install the ISO

sounds like a ventoy issue of some sort, try booting a directly written ISO.

I just did, still the same errors it seems.

Are you using the integrated SD card reader? Can you try using a regular USB flash drive or a USB SD card reader instead?

Did that, CachyOS has a kernel panic, LUbuntu stays the same.
