Firmware Issue on Chromebook Pixel 2 (2015 SAMUS) with Windows 11

After installing the MrChromebox-2509.0 Release firmware update on my Chromebook Pixel 2 (2015 SAMUS), I encountered driver issues on Windows 11 affecting two key components:

  • CoolStar SST Audio (WDM)

  • Intel Serial IO I2C Host Controllers – 9CE1 / 9CE2 / 9CE5 (listed under System Devices)

In Device Manager, all affected devices show the following status message:

“The system firmware on your computer does not have enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use the device, contact your computer manufacturer for a firmware or BIOS update.”

Although the system clearly indicates a firmware-related issue, I attempted to reinstall the drivers for these components as a precaution. However, the problem persisted with no change in behavior.

This issue did not occur prior to the firmware update. It appears the new firmware lacks the necessary descriptors or compatibility data for Windows 11 to properly initialize these modules.

Please advise if there is a workaround or if a firmware revision is planned to address this.

As always, thank you very much for your effort and work, MrChromebox.

already fixed, just verifying across all other platforms before pushing an update
