I’ve recently stumbled upon a new problem with fan control on coreboot specifically running windows 11. My computer tried to burn a hole through my crotch and I wasn’t sure why until I noticed that my cpu fan wasn’t ramping up under load. I looked at the device tree in UEFI shell and found the fan wasn’t listed. Interestingly, after booting on Linux (Ubuntu) the issue seemed to resolve itself. I’m decently sure it was a driver conflict but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if there is a fix for it.
I am having a similar problem with an HP Chromebook x360 10th generation Core i3. Sometimes when I turn it on the fan is completely off, and when I am using it for a while it either turns off suddenly or gets too hot, and checking a stress test I realized that the fan was at 0, but curiously when I close the lid and open it from sleep the fan activates at high rpm, until the rpm goes down with respect to the CPU temperature, it is also solved when I turn the computer off and on, but as I said, sometimes when I turn the computer off and on it simply does not activate the fan
Have you found a solution or a manual fan control to create your own fan curve that runs when Windows starts? I have Windows 10.
