Hi I’m back to say after installing the latest version of windows 10 and installing the SST (AVS) audio driver for Skylake Chromebooks, the speakers are still not working.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
Please run windows update and download from the Microsoft website.
We can’t support 3rd party downloads, since there’s no knowing if any sort of malware is injected, or if any important “bloated” files are stripped out
Hello, I finally managed to install the audio driver. I actually didn’t install it correctly initially because there is no comprehensive guide on how to download and install the drivers at Coostar. I had to do some research on YouTube to understand the payment process and then search Google and YouTube to find out the driver installation process. Frankly, it was too complicated to install a simple driver. Please review this.
here is the link that explained everything to me

that’s how he explained it and I understood perfectly :
For eve you will want to purchase the “Coolstar SST audio (AVS)” driver, which involves sending $10 via Patreon. Then you need to do something to generate a license file. I haven’t done it yet (still busy installing Windows) but there are instructions provided.
*edit * Okay, I just purchased and installed my driver. It’s a bit complicated so I’ll describe it here. You need to use your Patreon account to pay $10 to Coolstar by selecting the correct driver. Then you need to create an account in Coolstar’s license manager, by connecting to your Patreon account. In the account settings, it might show a $10 balance, if not wait 20 minutes or so and the hit “refresh.” When your $10 balance is show, you can purchase your driver. You can also go back to your Patreon account and cancel your Coolstar subscription, since you’re not required to keep paying each month.
Go to “available drivers” and select the one you want and click “buy”. Then go to “purchased licenses” and select the driver that you purchased and download it with the blue button on the left. Unzip the file on your computer and run GenUnsignedLicense.exe in the Windows terminal. Now go back again to “purchased licenses” in your Coolstar account, upload the unsigned license file that you created, give it a name (I don’t know what this does, but it’s required to put something here), click Submit and it will generate and download your license file. Put that in c:\windows\system32\drivers, then run the installer that was in the zip file that you previously downloaded. By default it will install support for several different audio chips; I don’t know if it’s best to leave everything checked or try to uncheck the ones that don’t apply to your computer. For my part, I know I have the Dialog codec so I unchecked the other codecs but left everything else checked
Coolstar has a guide pop-up the first time you open the driver portal. You likely closed it without reading
You can view this guide again by going to the support section I do believe
