Error when trying to get Firmware Utility Script on Chromebox CX1

Hi all, very new to Linux here! I’ve found an old Asus Chrombox CX1 with a MCCLOUD board in a drawer at work, unsupported ChromeOS ofcourse, and I’m trying to get Linux on it. I’m following the steps that Mrchromebox laid out, but when I run the command to get the firmware utility script, it gives me the following error:

firmware-util.sh: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token ‘newline’
firmware-util.sh: line 1: ’

I’ve tried a couple times myself, retyping and restarting, so I’m pretty sure it’s not a simple typo..
I am in the VT2 shell, by the way!
Anybody who can point me in the right direction?

we can’t tell for sure because you didn’t post a pic

$5 says it’s a typo

Very fair point! If it actually was a typo and it all works, expect 5 bucks in your patreon/whatever!

yes it’s a typo, and I explicitly call it out in the directions:

And do note that in the script command below, it’s ‘-LOf’ (L capital O f), not L zero f.

you’ve clearly typed a zero.

no idea why you’re running enable_dev_usb_boot – are you a ChromeOS developer needing to boot a ChromeOS image from USB? because that’s the only thing it does.
