im trying to dual-boot chromeos and linux on my enrolled dell chromebook 3100 without unenrolling it. But the only issue is developer mode is disabled by the system policy. i dont even know if its possible to enable developer mode without unenrolling it, but idk. if its not possible then its fine
you can’t boot linux using altfw/legacy boot mode, developer mode is disabled because whoever your IT admin is from the enrolling organisation has the forced re-enrollment policy set.
it is not currently possible to enable developer mode without deprovisioning/unenrolling.
while there are exploits to do so and ways around that, your organization admin may see your attempts logged. (chromeOS logs all devmode transition attempts upon re-enrollment and uploads them to google admin console for your admin to see, both failed and successful attempts.
this is also true for the devmode transition you just attempted.)
