Does the backup created by the firmware utility script wipe the connected drive?

the only other drives i have (that have the storage) are either being used by another device or have YEARS worth of data that i’d rather not lose on them, so i’m just wondering if the utility script’s backup (the one that’s created when you select the UEFI full flash) wipes your drive. i’m guessing that’s what “non-destructive” means but i’m just double checking to make sure i’m as set as i can be without a SuzyQable :stuck_out_tongue:

no, it simply copies the firmware backup to the first partition on the selected USB device

okayyy!!! thanks!!!

…okay so the SD card doesn’t show up when i’m getting ready to back up my chromeos install >:

it’s not a USB device.

it’s too much of a PITA to have the script reliably distinguish between SD and internal eMMC, card status, etc. so USB only.

oh… okay
