Does not work with Acer Chromebook 317 :(

I bought a used Acer Chromebook 317 CB317-1H-C3YA
with an Intel(R) Celeron(R) N5100 processor @ 1.10GHz (threads: 4, 2.800 GHz)

When I enter the command
cd; curl -LOf https://mrchromebox.tech/firmware-util.sh && sudo bash firmware-util.sh

Everything is fine until I show the list.

Device: Unrecognized Device
Board Name: QWERTY
Platform: (unrecognized)
FW Type: Stock ChromeOS w/RW_LEGACY
FW Ver: Google_Magolor 13.606.710.0 (11/08/2024)
FW WP: Disabled

  1. Install/Update RW_LEGACY Firmware
  2. Install/Update UEFI (Full ROM) Firmware
  3. Set Boot Options …
  4. Set Hardware ID …

Both points (1-2) are disabled. I can’t enter 1 or 2.

When I reboot, it says it can’t find another bootloader.

I don’t know what to do :frowning: And I want to run Linux Anti-X on it.

Chrome OS Version 142.0.7444.147

when you exit the script, it generates a diagnostic file. pastebin that file and link it here

some idiot tampered with the HWID, which breaks the script’s ability to detect the device.

‘querty’ is not a valid HWID.

The likely correct board name for your device is MAGPIE. Use the script’s HWID function to set your HWID to: MAGPIE TEST-ABC-123

reboot, and re-run the script. ChromeOS will likely complain about the HWID (as it did previously).

Thank you so much for your help.

After installing mrchromebox, I turned off my laptop.

It was off for about 10 minutes because I decided to download a new version of Linux Antix. I created a flash drive using Rufus.

When I turned on the laptop, only the keyboard lit up for a long time.

And the screen was black.

But it must have reset itself, and everything was fine after that
