Developer Mode without an internal keyboard

I need to initiate developer mode without recovery mode, or initiate recovery mode from ChromeOS
I have a dumb samsung chromebook where the keyboard is completely dead
the power button is in a weird position with the EC controller where pressing it force powers it off
Samsung Chromebook 4, Octopus board, Codename Bluebird

I dont mind a firmware reflash update since chromeOS has this built in, and if we can mod an existing one its good

what are you trying to do? flash the firmware? or just use ChromeOS with developer mode?

In either case, your only option is to flash the firmware chip directly with a ch341a USB programmer. CCD programming via SuzyQ does not work on bluebird IIRC.

I would like to flash the firmware. But again, chromeOS has a USB firmware update option, so if we can get ahold of its firmware, and modify an option inside it directly (hex editor maybe?) to change the dev mode switch then it should be possible

Sadly I dunno how to solder so doing the ch341a will not work

I looked at your site and SuzyQ is actually supported

The USB option is not possible

Ch341a does not require soldering

Suzyq is supported but (according to MrChromebox above and I found others on discord to back that up) does not work on bluebird (some devices ccd is just broken)

Got it! if SuzyQ doesnt work Ill look towards Ch341a
