Developer Mode Prompts to Exit

Hi there! New to all this but I’m trying to get into a chromebook that, while technically still administrated, (For personal reasons, requesting deprovisionment isn’t an option) does allow me to enable developer mode. The issue is when it reboots, it forces me back to the recovery mode screen with the prompt “Confirm returning to secure mode: Confirm/Cancel” with no way to exit. Pressing ctrl + D gets no response. Hitting cancel prompts a beep to sound, I see the dev mode interface for just a second, and then it reboots in verified mode with a prompt that the system last booted in developer mode. Powering the system off does the same.

I am on board type Kracko360 with kernel version 4. My question is this: Is this just dev mode blocking done in some roundabout way? Is there some way to stop it from booting into verified mode automatically?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

This is how dev mode blocking works on the new firmware ui.

Got it, suspected this was the case but had to be sure. Is this device pretty much a brick unless it gets deprovisioned then? Will a suzyqable get me anywhere or does it require dev mode to function in the first place?

Actually, just found a forum post covering the same topic— Answerer says the suzyq doesn’t work, but the firmware can be manually flashed “using an external programmer”— anywhere I could find info on this manual flashing process?

Thanks for the quick answer regardless :3!

In the documentation; treat as bricked device and use external programmer like ch341a for full flash.

Alright! Guess I didn’t catch that in the docs, thanks for the help!
