Summary of the Issue
Hello to everyone!
I need help with a Dell Chromebook 11 3189 (kefka). Being unfamiliar with Dell’s proprietary chargers, I incorrectly assumed the center pin was positive and the outer ring was negative. I inadvertently sent 19.5V through the ID/1-Wire signal pin.
Now the laptop won’t charge anymore even with an original charger. I suspect an ESD protection diode might have blown since the pin is now shorted to ground but I can’t see any visible burns or damaged components on the motherboard.
Can somebody help me? A schematic would be enough, but the only ones I found were paid. Thanks in advance
Steps to Reproduce
- Plug in original charger
Expected Behavior
Battery should start charging
