If so, how do I do it? And is it safe? I have absolutely zero smarts when it comes to computers.

Hopefully you can read and use Google, you can start by reading our documentation:

If you don’t understand what “x” means just Google it. It’s not rocket science. Also please don’t use ChatGPT for help, you’re asking for a disaster.

Bruh you really asked ChatGPT to crosspost for you?

I’ll tell you the exact same thing I told you on Reddit. If you have zero computer smarts, this is not something you’re going to be able to do.

Also it was regrettable that everyone on r/chromeos was rude to you, especially to someone who doesn’t necessarily yet understand.

To put it into terms that you can understand, Chromebooks and regular Windows PCs are very different under the hood, and while it is definitely possible, it isn’t easy for you to install Windows on your Chromebook. People on r/chromeos treat this as basically impossible for regular computer users and understandably ask accusingly why you got a Chromebook in the first place if what you needed was something that was running Windows. (I know your reason, you explained on Reddit already)

My advice is this: join the r/chromeos Discord, people are far more friendly there. Ask about using Steam on a Chromebook to play games. But give up on trying to install Windows on your Chromebook. It’s probably outside of your skill level.
