Cr50 TPM 2.0 driver not recognized in tpm.msc on HP Pro c640 G2 (DROBIT)

  1. Chromebook Model: HP Pro c640 G2 Chromebook
  2. Board Name: DROBIT (Intel Tiger Lake platform)
  3. CPU: Intel 11th Gen Core Processor

Hi CoolStar,

I am seeking technical assistance regarding the Cr50 TPM 2.0 driver on my HP Pro c640 G2 (DROBIT) running Windows 11.

I have successfully installed the “Chromebook Cr50 (I2C / SPI) TPM 2.0” driver, and it appears perfectly in the Device Manager under “Security Devices” with no error codes. However, I am facing the following issue:

  1. The Problem: Despite being active in Device Manager, tpm.msc reports “Compatible TPM cannot be found.”

  2. The Impact: This prevents Riot Games’ Vanguard (VALORANT) from launching, resulting in a VAN -1 error because it cannot verify the TPM 2.0 status on Windows 11.

  3. Current Setup:

    • OS: Windows 11

    • Secure Boot: Enabled (Required for Valorant)

    • Drivers: All latest drivers (including Serial IO) from your website have been installed.

Since this is a Tiger Lake (DROBIT) board, is there a specific registry tweak or a different driver version required for the Windows Security Health core to actually “see” the Cr50 chip as a functional TPM 2.0 module?

I have attached screenshots of the Device Manager showing the driver is loaded and the tpm.msc error screen.

Thank you for your amazing work on these drivers and for any help you can provide.

the CR50 is not fully TPM 2.0 compliant and so will not pass checks needed for Bitlocker or anything else that requires a functional TPM
