Summary of the Issue

I’m using a Chromebook 14 db0003na. I want to install AntiX Linux but for the life of me it won’t boot to recovery.

It’s not locked to ab enterprise or school.

I’ve tried the esc, refresh and power combo. I’ve tried it as a tap, I’ve tried holding the esc and refresh before hitting power. I’ve tried holding them for a while after hitting power.

I tried esc, the square enlarge button and power nothing.

It keeps booting normally to the setup screen

I tried the onboard keyboard tester and my escape and refresh buttons are fine.

I have the battery connected and charger plugged in.

Any ideas?

Steps to Reproduce

Expected Behavior

[What should have happened?]

Just FYI in case anyone gets stuck like this.

I had the letter A and a few other keys that wasn’t working at all. So I ended up disconnecting the keyboard ribbon cable and kept at it until the lot started to be picked up.

Now note the esc, refresh and power were working or at least showed as fine in the onboard tester as well as online.

The cable must be lose. The escape button was dodgy and I took it out and it’s in a situation where it’s appearing as constantly being pressed right now, that’s a problem for another day.

First go it booted into recovery and I am motoring fine now.

Hopefully it will help someone else.
