Hey Guys!
I am running an Acer 514 Chromebook with the AMD Ryzen 5 (Ezkinil) and since I wasn’t able to use my favorite Linux of choice, I tried my luck with EndeavourOS first and gladly ended up with Ultramarine Linux in the end.
I am using it for a year now and I have to say since they focus on newest kernel it is quite exciting, how often I get to enjoy the newest kernel. (my old Distro, sticked with a Kernel for a whole release) Anyways, since it’s quite a small device,
I was wondering if anyone else, noticed, when removing zram feature, the thing becomes way less busy. This command: sudo dnf remove zram-generator-defaults and removing any suspending options from the power management, basically improves overall performance remarkably. Fans won’t freak out from 2 browser tabs etc. Does anyone else have experience with this on other devices? Is the ZRAM doing this damn stuff in the background for everyone else but me? Lol, please share your experiences.
Merry Christmas! ![]()
