Charging lights not working when logged in on fedora on pixelbook

I have a pixelbook and I just recently installed fedora kde after unlocking it with the process laid out by mrchromebox and specifically followed this GitHub - jmontleon/pixelbook-fedora: How to install Fedora on a Pixelbook with reasonable results guide. Everything works great! I couldn’t be more pleased!

However, I can’t seem to figure out why the charging lights on the left and right side stop working once I log in. When the computer is on and at the log in screen they work, even tapping the case twice will cause them to shine the current charge level. But once I log in the lights are both off. Pixelbook still charges fine, the battery applet is able to report that the pixelbook is charging.

I have looked and searched for more information but I don’t think I know what I am looking for. Anyone have any idea?

I reinstalled fedora and the charging lights work.
