Can't get into recovery mode (Acer R11 CYAN)

So I’ve been trying to put a Linux distro on this particular Chromebook (haven’t chosen yet), but can’t even get past Step 1. I’ve tried holding down ESC+REFRESH+POWER, swapping REFRESH for FULL SCREEN, and even swapping ESC for CTRL at one point. Yet each time, I just end up back on the login screen (not helping that a lot of the times it just turns on upon opening the lid, and a lot of times it won’t really respond to the power button-which is a key on the keyboard instead of a switch). I got it refurbished off of Amazon back in 2020, and don’t know where it was prior, so I am unsure if it was managed or modified and them improperly set back or not. I did check the WP screw, and it’s there (albeit stripped).

Edit: Please ignore this. I fixed it. Had a hell of a brain fart and kept thinking the lock key was the power key due to my keyboard cover (as the U key came off it shortly after I bought it). I managed to get into recovery mode now.

CYAN’s power button is on the side of the device, not the keyboard

Yup, I figured that out and I feel like a dummy now.
