I have a pixel slate, and I’m following this guide to dual-boot Linux and ChromeOS, but I can’t enter recovery mode to enable developer mode. I lost the keyboard so I can’t use the keyboard shortcut, but the Pixel Slate help says that I can press volume down + volume up + power for 10 seconds, but that doesn’t seem to work for me. I tried resetting it (“Powerwash" option in settings), but that didn’t help. The settings app shows that I have the latest version of ChromeOS and that the firmware is up to date.
the keyboard does not allow booting to recovery mode on the Slate (because it’s USB, so for security), you have to use the side buttons. pres/hold the volume buttons first, then power
I tried that already, and it didn’t work. It just powers off.
