Cant activate dev mode

I go in on recovery mode and press ctrl+D. Then there should be a menu over all boot options (boot from internal drive and more) but the timeout is super shirt so it kicks me directly to return to secure mode. I only see the dev menu for a split second. Its an hp Chromebox g3 and its enrollment locked because i bought it secondhand

if the box is enrolled, then dev mode is locked out, so it’s returning to secure mode as soon as you boot to dev mode.

things to try in order:

  • perform a ChromeOS USB recovery
  • log in as non-guest user
  • switch to dev mode

if that doesn’t work, then your only recourse is to either have the managing entity unenroll the device, or manually flash the firmware using an external programmer (though that device may use a WSON-8 flash chip and not be clippable). A suzyQ won’t do any good on a managed device.

I hope this isn’t super late I don’t see a date other than May 19th but

I’m kind of in the same boat maybe if his is actually enrolled. I have three Chromebooks that are Enterprise enrolled I have the equipment to do it if the school decides not to unenroll them so in preparation I was looking for the information about flashing with the flipper zero is that still possible or is that not a thing anymore

These things are totally locked down as far as I can tell I have not tried USB recovery but power washing didn’t do nothing and Dev mode like he says puts me back forces it to re-enroll. I don’t think there’s a way to log in as non-guest. If you could give information on that that would be nice.
