Mr. Chromebox , I have an Acer Chromebook 315 [Board Name: Magma , Platform: Intel JasperLake , FW Type: Stock ChromeOS w/RW Legacy , FW Version: Google Magolor 13606.710.0 11/8/2024] . I want to clone batocera as the OS , but Ive been having a great deal of trouble disabling the WP on the chromebook , even after following your directions to the best of my ability . I first put the chromebook into developer mode . then ( since i dont have a WP screw to remove and unplugging the battery doesnt work ) I used a SuzyQable to disable the WP . After following the directions on your website , I did get all “Y’s” like you described I would if I did it right . I then rebooted the chromebook , in developer mode , and attempted to run your UEFI script . When I did , the results showed that the WP was still enabled . Im not sure what I may have done wrong , if anything . I have tried to find a step by step video of how to do this with my particular chromebook , but I have not been successful . I could really use some help with this issue , please .

The only thing I can think I did wrong was not properly closing out the shell after disabling WP or not properly rebooting in developer mode . Because the directions did not list how to properly do either one , it just said to do them.
that just means you enabled ccd factory mode. Nothing to do with WP. There is nothing different you need to do for this device. You simply did not disable WP as per the instructions.
Using the SuzyQ in loopback mode (connected to the same device) isn’t ideal since you can’t see what the output of the commands is. If you have another Linux device, connect the USB-A end of the SuzyQ from there and run the commands in a terminal connected to /dev/ttyUSB0 so you can see what’s happening

all you need to do is run:
ccd open
wp disable
wp disable atboot
then reboot the Chromebook
