I have an ASUS C433T chromebook that I have put in Developer mode. I ran the Mrchromebox.tech utility script and flashed the Legacy firmware. Everything went fine and when I rebooted I entered CTRL and L, ok so far Then I hit escape to get the Boot men, and chose USB boot. Then the screen froze. It says it’s booting from USB, but it never changes. I tried 3 different USB OSes, changed to USB C, still nothing. I had no problems on an old Acer C740 when I did similar work a few years ago. Any suggestions?
if you’re looking to replace ChromeOS with Linux, the UEFI Full ROM firmware is what you need, not RW_LEGACY.
no idea why SeaBIOS won’t boot your USB, but it hasn’t been updated in years. Could be the USB stick, what/how your wrote the ISO to USB, any number of things.
i was able to boot an install usb of Linux Mint Debian Edition.(LMDE) and I created a USB with the full os on it. It booted and performed well, but no audio. I plugged the USB into another linux computer and EVERYTHING worked, including audio. I tried the suggested audio script but nothing. Is there any other way to get audio? I like the idea of Legacy to boot 2 different OSes, but the audio is necessary…The board name is Cheyana?
you mean Shyvana? Skylake boards are a bit problematic, no idea if it can work with stock firmware / legacy boot
