Cannot boot from SD Card

Hello! I recently installed EndeavourOS on my HP Chromebook 11 G5 (SETZER). I installed the OS on a 128GB V30 SD Card, as my device has a microSD reader. I figured it would be the most convenient, as my internal eMMC is only 16GB, and it’s really, REALLY slow.

My problem is that when I boot into the BIOS Menu (I am using the CFW from MrChromeBox, not RW_LEGACY), it only shows my internal eMMC (I have not removed chromeOS and it’s EFI, GRUB is installed to the SD card). When I plug it in, no new devices show up on reboot. However, it works just fine when plugged into a microSD —> USB-A adapter.

the built-in SD card readers which are directly connected (not USB connected internally) don’t tend to work well at all with edk2, due to it’s fairly poor sd/emmc drivers
