A friend of mine wanted to use a acer Chromebox CX12 for some light gaming with some ram/storage upgrades, and I agreed to set it up. After removing the read/write protect screw, Ubuntu runs fine, and Minecraft runs decently. The only issue is that every time you power it on or restart it, it goes to the OS verification is off screen, then I have to press CRTL+L to enter boot manager, then press enter to boot from hard disk. Is there any way to bypass this? This is my first post on this forum, so please correct me if I am doing anything wrong.

you flashed the wrong firmware type - you need to flash the UEFI Full ROM firmware, not RW_LEGACY. you can do this from your existing Ubuntu install, but will need to reinstall the OS after flashing / rebooting
Thanks! I will try that.
It worked flawlessly, thank you so much!
