System Details
- Device: Acer Chromebook Plus 514 (Jubilant)
- OS: Fedora Workstation 44
- Firmware Type: UEFI Full ROM
- Firmware Version: Unsure
- Internal storage type: NVMe
Summary of the Issue
Quite simply, the trackpad and speakers aren’t working and I can’t find any drivers compatible with my device. I don’t really care about the speakers but as someone who would die on a hill for trackpads, I would really like mine to work.
Steps to Reproduce
-
Flash the custom firmware onto an Acer Chromebook Plus 514
-
Install one of the distros in the title
Expected Behavior
Whilst the system can detect the trackpad, it can’t seem to read from it and get the cursor moving with it. It also seems to produce a phantom mouse, which doesn’t exist. I am using kernel 7.2. The keyboard, the backlight, wifi, display and bluetooth all work, except for the speakers and trackpad.
I tried using the audio script but it complained about my board model.
My specifications:
- Processor: Intel Core i3 13th gen
- RAM: 8gb DDR5
- SSD: 256gb NVMe
- GPU: Integrated
- OS: Fedora Workstation
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
