Bootloader not responding

Lenovo 300e Chromebook Gen 2 AMD
NEC Chromebook Y1 Gen2A

Used the mrchromebox.tech instructions to load RW_LEGACY, & remove WP using SuzyQable. When I go into the bootloader to load Tails via a portable SSD, on the Legacy Boot Mode the instructions say to “Press a numeric key to select an alternate bootloader:” I press 1, which is the only option & lists “edk2 UEFI bootloader”, & nothing happens…. I have to manually shut it down to get out of that screen.

I haven’t tried creating a new load USB for tails because I am using a portable SSD that I was using on an old windows laptop that died.

TREEYA?

many AMD Stoneyridge devices don’t have functional RW_LEGACY, because Google broke it with a firmware update. Nothing can be done to work around it unfortuantely

Treeya360… but from your response I’m guessing it’s the same issue…. Thanks for the feedback though.

Is replacing ChromeOS still an option?

I ended up following the UEFI Full ROM process….if it didn’t work, such is life, the Chromebook only cost me $66 & I could donate it to a local nonprofit that fixes & sells electronics.

Well it worked & loaded up Tails as I hoped it would. Thanks for having the website instructions.
