Baytrail Audio Script

The audio script did not work for me, HP Chromebook 11 G4 KIP, is anyone have the script for baytrail, if so thanks

Also side question, could this work? (https://www.reddit.com/r/chrultrabook/comments/f0n63h/audio_drivers_on_hp_chromebook_11_g4/)

Test the audio which comes OOTB, does it work?

Nope, no sound at all

What error did you get when attempting to install the software?

apologies for the late reply btw

I removed the board_vendor check as it was likely redundant anyways.

Are you using an LTS version of Linux Mint? Unfortunately these versions usually have problems with up-to-date audio codecs. If you are, use a Bluetooth audio speaker and we finish here. Otherwise tell me what version you’re using and I might recommend some options.

Ah, so do I do it again then?

well the iso download did say LTS, but im using kernel 6.11 which will only be supported till this august

Yes

okay

I did it, it says this

heres the file

Use full rom firmware

does it not work on RW_LEGACY?

The system manufacturer is “Hewlett-Packard” on stock firmware, which breaks chromebook detection in my script. There is also no reason to use RW_LEGACY on EOL devices since it should only be used for dualbooting and ChromeOS doesn’t get updates anymore.

Ah ok, but is there anything i can do to like change the manufacturer, or anything else? I really want to keep ChromeOS

if you’re going to ignore the very strong recommendations from the people making the firmware and OS fixes, you’re going to have to figure things out on your own – like how the audio script works, how the manufacturer checking works, and how to work around or bypass it. we are not going to spend our time and effort helping you do things we know don’t work well, especially when a better option exists.

Okay, sorry then
