Hello. I have a Samsung Chromebook xe350xba “Casta” model, that has an unfortunate issue. The computer will not power up at all with the battery connected. Tried both Type-C ports and several chargers; no dice. I’ve been trying to get into Recovery Mode to no avail for a while now when I stumbled upon a support forum that says that the battery has to be connected for Recovery Mode to work.
…So, am I screwed? Must I really order a new battery for this junk just to do this? That would be extremely annoying
It may also be a motherboard or port-related issue rather than the battery, as I’ve read online, which means I could still be screwed even after spending more on the battery than I did on the laptop itself…

yes, CASTA/BLUEBIRD won’t boot with the battery disconnected, SuzyQ only for WP disable
