Audio works with WeirdTreeThing script but is not persistent after reboot

After flashing the firmware I installed antiX Linux on a Samsung xe500c12 Chromebook - Winky. Do a sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade. Reboot and then run the WeirdTreeThing script linux-audio-fix. Reboot and audio works fine, speakers and headphones. However, after powering down and reboot I don’t have audio. Running the script again doesn’t restore the audio. I have to completely reformat the 16GB ssd in the laptop, reinstall antiX, sudo update and sudo upgrade, run the WeirdTreeThing script again and the audio works again, but isn’t persistent between reboots. I’m guessing whatever the script changes reverts back to its original configuration on reboot. Has anyone had this problem? Is this more of an antiX issue? Any help would be appreciated.
