Summary of the Issue
I am using an HP Cromebook (Intel Core i7-8650U) running Windows 11 Pro. After installing the Coolstar SST Audio Driver (AVS), the speakers started working and I am able to control/balance the audio.
However, I am experiencing audio breaking/stuttering only during Zoom calls, especially when video is enabled. Check here to see the issue I’m facing.
Troubleshooting already performed:
-
Tested with multiple internet networks / ISPs
-
Issue occurs only in Zoom
-
Other applications play audio normally
-
Output format is fixed at 16-bit, 48000 Hz (CD Quality) and the option is greyed out, so it cannot be changed
My questions:
-
Could the Coolstar SST (AVS) driver be causing compatibility issues with Zoom?
-
Is the fixed 16-bit 48 kHz output format a known limitation that could cause audio stuttering during video calls?
-
Is there a recommended driver version or configuration for stable audio on Windows 11 for this hardware?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you.
