Asus CX3402CVA UEFI Firmware install issue

System Details

  • Device: MARASOV-UERT (CX3402CVA)
  • OS: ChromeOS
  • Firmware Type: Stock & RW_Legacy
  • Firmware Version: Google_Marasov.14505.884.0
  • Internal storage type: UFS

Summary of the Issue

I tried to install the Full UEFI Firmware via a SuzyQ but when I connected it, it was not detected by the Laptop or a different Linux device. ls /dev/ttyUSB* gives No such file or directory on both and in dmesg -w and in lsusb nothing shows up.

CCD is enabled and gsctool -a -I confirms it. I did test my DIY SuzyQ with a multimeter and everything seams fine VCC/VBUS has 5V, the resistors are in the correct place and are 56K Ohm and 22K Ohm.

I have attached pictures of my SuzyQ cable and the laptop insides. Circled in red is what I think is the H1 security chip and next to it I do see two extremely tiny (finger tip for scale) and are labeled JRST 2401 and JRST 2301.

the cable is the problem, full stop.

nothing on the device itself will prevent the ttyUSB devices from appearing on the host, it’s a cable problem
