Will the machine even boot without SSD?

I’ve got one without the drive, and while it does powers on there’s no HDMI video output nor DP.
I don’t have a sata m2 ssd right now that’s why I’m really curious if the device has to boot to (bios?) without the ssd?

Yes, it boot to UEFI. If you want boot something else make a linux usb live.

then the problem is “no video output”…
