I installed the firmware yesterday following the guidelines on getting started page. I think there were no issues with firmware update. All went well except, whenever I power on red light blinks and device doesn’t boot. But when I press reset button and power on, I see the bios and can boot the installed OS. I was wondering if I need to remove the screw permanently.
Also, I want to install OS on microsd card, but bios never detects the microsd card, is it possible to get microsd card listed in bios boot options?
I am powering it via usb-c power adapter. Tried 3 power different adapters, all 65 watts+ rating. Note: if I press reset button and plug USB-c, it powers on, and all subsequent reboot via OS works.
the problem is the USB-PD connection doesn’t persist properly when the EC switches from RO to RW during boot. I’ve looked at the code and tried to fix it to no avail. So the WA is to turn off switching to RW in the EC options, then USB-C power will work properly.
Appreciate the response! Where can I find instructions on how to turn off switching in the EC? And out of curiosity, are there any other things I should be aware of if I turn off RW?
Apologies for not responding sooner. I’m still experiencing an issue where the red light blinks on boot, even though I’ve disabled RW in the BIOS. The only way I can get the Chromebox to power on is by holding the reset button during startup.
