Asus Chromebook Plus 515 - No audio on Fedora 43

System Details:

  • Device: Asus Chromebook Plus CX34 515 (Omnigul)

  • OS: Fedora 43

  • Firmware Type: UEFI Full ROM

  • Firmware Version: `Google_Omnigul.14505.871.0`

  • Internal storage type: eMMC

Summary of the Issue: No audio output after installing WeirdTreeThing audio script. pactl list short sinks shows only auto_null

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Fresh Fedora 43 install

  2. Ran WeirdTreeThing chromebook-linux-audio script (no errors)

  3. Rebooted

Expected Behavior: Speakers and headphone jack should work

Precisions :
I used to be on Mint XFCE and changed because I was annoyed not to have a proper access to sound and always have to connect wireless headphones or whtvr. I tried Ubuntu but it wasn’t compatible either with the WeirdTreeThing solution, so I installed Fedora, but it is still not working. Thanks in advance, I’m not that good with coding in something else than HTML so…
