I’ve enabled developer mode and disconnected the internal battery with the intention to install the coreboot firmware on it using mrchromebox’s firmware script, however, while the battery is disconnected, whether developer mode is enabled or disabled, the Chromebook bootloops if the battery is internally disconnected. I am the single owner of this Chromebook and it was sitting on a shelf for about 2 years before I attempted this, it should have the latest version of Chrome OS on it as a result of the transition to developer mode. I’m fairly certain that my 120W PD transformer and 240W cable is enough to power the Chromebook.
some devices simply don’t work without the battery, either due to HW design or EC firmware. Nothing you can do other than use a SuzYQ cable to disable WP instead
