Asus C200 will not shutdown

Hi.
I am experiencing an issue with my Asus C200 Chromebook. Despite installing Windows 10, the device powers on automatically when the charger is connected. Additionally, attempts to shut down the system, both through the power button and the Windows shutdown function, result in an immediate reboot.

Even sleep mode doesn’t work. When I select sleep, the laptop goes to sleep for a few seconds and then turns back on. I didn’t have these problems on ChromeOS.
I’m going to install a LinuxOS soon, but it’s most likely not an OS issue. There’s probably a bug in the kernel…

Kernel is part of os

It could be a firmware issue, update it.

Hello @PrincePersia I have a C200 with squawks board. Do you confirm write protection is made with a screw ? If yes where it is ? I cannot find any information.

Thanks !

Hello my friend @tpam03. Yes it is secured by a screw. I have marked the place where you need to unscrew it in the picture below:

Thank you so much @PrincePersia !

I managed to flash the firmware, now time to install linux
