Hey, my device is a Acer Chromebook Spin 511 [R753T] with Ubuntu 25.04.
The firmware is coreboot-MrChromebox-2503.0.
The problem is that after 4-10 reboots of the device these issues seem to pop up:
- Touchpad stops working.
- Right USB port stops working and makes a weird sound (could be the speaker).
- The device automatically turns on with no user input (does not matter if the lid is closed or not) which makes it impossible to shut down.
Now the only way to fix it is to unplug the battery resetting everything but this solution is sadly only temporary.
Because the battery temporary fixes it, I’m not sure if it’s a OS issue or a firmware issue.
I wanted to add the output of the chrultrabook debugging script and the output of the cbmem log, but sadly .tar.gz files are not allowed to be uploaded. I have tried to paste one, but it exceeds the character limit.
Note: I have tried to recreate it but I can’t do it consistently so I don’t know what causes it.
I am not very experienced, so any help is appreciated!
