Summary of the Issue

Installed Linux Mint, everything is going smoothly but I can’t figure out how to get the touchpad working. dmesg log contains line: lan_i2c i2c-ELAN0000:00 supply cvcc not found, using dummy regulator. Below is the entire log:

I know everyone loves Mint because it’s noob friendly, but they also do a lot of stuff that breaks things weirdly. Boot a Ubuntu 26.04 live USB and see if it works there, to rule out a hardware issue. It’s working fine for me on CYAN here. If it works there, then try updating your kernel, or consider using a better supported distro

I switched to Ubuntu 26.04 Live USB and it still doesn’t work there. However, I know the hardware is not broken because the touchpad itself does show. It just shows up in the log extremely late at 94 seconds, whereas the touchscreen is 0.57.

Try something with kernel 6.15+

Kernel 7 is good but for very new devices

7.0.x is fine here on my CYAN, it’s not a kernel issue

So I installed Ubuntu 26.04 and now the mouse isn’t even showing up. The dmesg log is able to show the device with a 16.53 second timeout and the touchpad just straight up does not show in libinput list-devices. The hardware is fine because it still shows up, I just have no clue what’s happening with the software side of things.

Same thing on Q4OS KDE. Touchscreen works, touchpad is still detected but unusable by the desktop. Pretty much the same message as ubuntu, having the device use a dummy regulator.

this is not a problem, it’s informational
