Acer Chromebook 514 i5-1135g7 touchpad not working

System Details

  • Device: Volta
  • OS: [Windows 11]
  • Firmware Type: [UEFI Full ROM only]
  • Firmware Version: [MrChromebox-2512.2]
  • Internal storage type: [NVMe]

Summary of the Issue

After installing Windows 11 and all drivers from the coolstar website, the touchpad does not work, and there is an exclamation mark next to Chromebook Synaptics RMI Touchpad in Device Manager.

Is there a solution?

the Synaptics touchpad on VOLTA/VOXEL uses i2c-hid, so uninstall (and remove) coolstar’s touchpad drivers and reboot. It should use the standard windows I2C HID touchpad drivers. Be sure all chipset/i2c controller drivers are installed as well, no unknown or malfunctioning drivers in Device Manager

Thank you, I’ll try.
