I followed the Chrultrabooks docs up until the “flashing custom firmware” part. The command seemed to work fine, confirmed “y” to what it prompted me to do (I kind of forget, I’m sorry), then turned it off.
I left it turned off but plugged in with no battery for a few minutes as I went and made a bootable USB. Now it won’t turn on whatsoever. Screen doesn’t turn on, nothing.
When plugged in with the battery connected, there’s a blinking blue light. When plugged in without the battery, there’s a blinking orange light and the occasional beeping noise. I have tried this (as well as holding power+refresh and unplugging the cord, anything that sounded vaguely related to my problem) and none of them did anything. Still just those lights.
I’m sorry in advance if any of this is stupid/doesn’t make sense. It’s not the end of the world if this thing is permanently messed up because it’s a device I no longer use but it’d still be pretty disappointing.
The beeping is probably the developer mode beep, which means it’s booting but no picture. Check the LCD connection (make sure battery and AC is disconnected before connecting or disconnecting LCD cables)

Things seems to be connected fine, I think. Things are taped down pretty well so I’m nervous about messing with them. It didn’t feel important to mention but the left hinge has been broken for a little while now so that cable has been a little bit exposed: cable is visible due to broken hinge
The screen has always worked fine before my problems started.
(Battery disconnected, orange light blinking) (Video) here is the beeping I’m talking about, I didn’t get it on video but when I plugged it in it made what I can only describe as a “squeak” noise. Any sounds this thing is making now are a lot quieter than the developer mode beeps
The only sign of life are those blue or orange lights (orange when plugged in with battery disconnected, blue when plugged in with battery connected. The blue light also manages to stay on if I unplug it.), and a very quiet whirring/clicking.
Pressing the power key, or any combination of keys for that matter, doesn’t make it do anything in any state. It makes no sense to me why even the display is giving me nothing when I never messed with that.
The final time I turned it off I had turned it off as normal for a few minutes to go and make a bootable USB and it really seems to me that it then went into a coma for zero reason whatsoever.
Can you turn it on with battery disconnected? I had a similar problem where after flashing back to chromeos from windows it wouldn’t boot with the battery connected. But if I unplug the battery and it will run laggy at 0.4ghz,.
