So for no real reason, sometimes my Acer Chromebook 315 with Debian 12 installed will just play the music full volume out of the speakers when they are supposed to play out of the headphones.
In example, I could be opening Steam, it opens fine, sound plays through the headphones. Then I launch something like Retroarch, and when it launches, it’s sound effects play FULL VOLUME right through the speakers, and changing volume level doesn’t do anything. This happens randomly under numerous situations.
For extra context:
- I have run the audio script, it runs successfully
- The speakers work, I can play audio out of it normally if I wanted it to, and volume control works and everything
- If this matters at all, the microphone is extremely quiet as well. Anything I record with the internal microphone no matter the volume I set is barely audible.
If I need to specify anything else I’d be glad to. I’m worried cause I don’t wanna blow out my speakers eventually if this keeps happening, and also it’s a jumpscare everytime, it’s very annoying. If you could help with the mic problem too, that would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
