I’ve successfully installed Linux Mint on a Dell Chromebook 11 3189. Everything but the ‘tablet features’ work fine. The touchscreen works, but folding the screen back doesn’t activate tilting and doesn’t turn off the keyboard and touchpad. I’m new to Linux, so I don’t know how to proceed here. I would appreciate any help.
Update: Last night I tried Ubuntu LTS iso on a thumbdrive. The screen tilt worked out of the box, but the hinge sensor still didn’t shut off the keyboard and touchpad.
I don’t think any of the desktops used by mint have any kind of tablet mode.
I’m willing to try other distros. Mint seemed like the one to go with at the time.
I’m not sure tablet mode works on any of the Braswell Chromebooks
Aw.
I’m not going to stop looking for answers though.
Solved, sort of! I haven’t figured out the hinge sensor, but I used xinput to find the device numbers for the keyboard and touchpad, and a guide I found here A guide and script to temporarily disable and enable the laptop keyboard while using an external keyboard in Linux Mint. · GitHub to make desktop icons to run scripts to toggle them on and off. It’s probably as close as I’ll get. I appreciate everyone’s help, thank you.
