Uhhh what does THIS mean? (UEFI Firmware option not greyed out in script)

Hiiii!!! so, i’m just curious about something with the Firmware Utility Script. in the tutorial the “Install/Update UEFI (Full ROM) Firmware” option is greyed out or missing, but on my chromebook (Asus c523n from around 2020) the option is available. does this mean anything special, or should i just dismiss it?

(also random, mildly unrelated question, but do all chromebooks with the WP tied to the battery sense line need the SuzyQ cable or is that a case-by-case basis?)

in what tutorial?

The script shows you the available options for your device. Greyed out options are not available for that device. Nothing is greyed out, so all displayed options are available.
It’s also showing you which ones are only available with WP disabled, as well as the current WP state.

How to disable WP for your device is listed on the Supported Devices page on my site.

yea i get that, i was just asking because i was curious (also i thought the Firmware Utility Script page was some sort of tutorial, oops :stuck_out_tongue:).

the screenshot shown in my docs is from 2020, at which point the device shown did not have UEFI firmware available, hence it was greyed out
