Hello, this is my first post. I have a Lenovo C340-15 Chromebook model 81t9 on which I installed Windows 10. The audio drivers from Coolstar work correctly, but I’m unable to find the USB 2.0 drivers. The USB Type-C works fine, but I can’t get the 2.0 to work. Can anyone suggest compatible drivers to solve this issue?
Please look at the docs, and provide us with:
- boardname
- where you downloaded windows from
- which version of windows 10 did you install
- did you run windows update
- did you install optional updates
Yeah, I checked the guide but it doesn’t say anything. I also searched the forum but couldn’t find anyone with the same issue. When you mention the plate name, are you referring to the motherboard model? If so, I’ll send you a picture of it. Regarding Windows, I’ll send you an image showing that I’ve done all the updates up to the latest one. I’ll attach some images with some data for you.
Your firmware is very out of date. Please refer to the documentation on upgrading it
Do you have a direct link, if not, I’ll look something up on the forum or on the internet?
Thank you very much for the support
Alright, I updated the firmware to version mrchromebox 2405.0, but the issue still remains - it’s not detecting the USB and some drivers are showing up as unknown.
The amount of missing devices tells me you have not followed coolstars guide or the documentation
If it’s true, I just needed the touchscreen drivers, but the guide only shows 4 drivers that I downloaded and installed. Even after doing that, I still have 2 devices appearing as unknown, and the USB 2.0 is still not working. Here’s the link to the guide I followed: How to install Windows 10/11 on a Chromebook
I’ll tell you another detail I noticed when I connect an external mechanical hard drive, it doesn’t even spin, which means the USB isn’t supplying voltage either.
Sounds like damaged hardware, which can’t (easily) be fixed. Have you tried in Linux to determine if it’s windows causing this issue?
If I did tests with a bootable Linux, with the same result. It’s strange that when I had the default Chrome system, the USB worked correctly. But after moving to Windows, it stopped working from the beginning. I probably just had bad luck. I’ve tried everything and it still doesn’t work. Thank you very much for the support.
It sounds like it may be possible that when you opened the chromebook to flash the firmware (assuming you did) you may have bumped some wires, or left something unplugged. Have you tried checking that?
if I have already checked that the only flexible USB to the motherboard is the type C which is properly connected and the USB 2.0 is soldered to the motherboard
