So, I attempted to install a Linux system on my C13 Yoga Chromebook. Throughout the process of installing Arch Linux, I foolishly tried to manually install Arch Linux but quit in the middle of the installation! At one point, I removed everything on my disk and created a new volume. Now, when I boot into UEFI and attempt to reinstall or install another Linux system through my USB, after selecting the option I want to install, it just brings me to a pitch-black screen with a small white line.
- I boot up to the rabbit page
- Exit from UEFI console
- Clicks Boot manage, and clicks on my USB
- Select arch medium instal
- Black screen with like one white line displayed, but goes away shortly

a device which boots to the firmware boot menu and allows you to boot from USB is by definition not bricked

Oh thanks god, but is my system corrupted?? Im clueless about my chromebook current status, I can’t seem to boot any system inside the usb drive
sounds like your install media is corrupted
Is there anyway to fix that? can I even fix it? I mean I can still get into the UEFI console
you need to use another device to create fresh install media
Are you referring to the windows install media?
Download Windows 10
I’m referring to whatever OS you are trying to install.
Also, you don’t select Boot Manager, you select Boot Menu.
and your video is set to private so no one can see it.
My bad l’ll fix that
should be public
(btw in the video the OS on the USB was arch)
that’s the ChromeOS grub boot menu, that’s not usable. you have to use the FIRMWARE boot menu (press ESC when prompted on the splash screen) in order to boot from USB
Erm this one correct?
(this is what pops up right as I press ESC, sorry im terrible w tech terms)
you likely need to press e or x on the grub menu screen with the top option highlighted to edit the command line and add iommu=pt
to the kernel parameter list, then boot
ty, I resolved my problem by deleting everything and installed a different os(pop!)
