Microphone muffled/not working: Mint Debian - Asus Chromebook CX5 (CX5601)

Specs:
-Asus Chromebook Flip CX5 (CX5601)
-Felwinter Board
-Mint Debian
-RW_Legacy Firmware

Hello folks!
I am brand new to Linux in general, but not computers. Managed to load the firmware legacy version, setup dual boot and install the OS no issues.

No compatibility issues other than my microphone is not working well. I can boot into ChromeOS and mic works normally, but not in Linux.

Speakers sound fine after installing the sound card hotfix script by WeirdTreeThing, just the mic is very muffled, I think the driver or codex is off, just not sure how to go about fixing it.

I did some basic googling, and found some posts on the Mint forums.

Tried to adjust the boost in alsamixer, but I don’t think it’s displaying the mic and/or sound card correctly.

I see the default sound card:

-Pipewire I can adjust speaker within the app for the output fine, but adjusting the Capture section does nothing

-Another soundcard: sof-rt5682: Nothing I do on this card makes a difference.

Any ideas? Nor sure what all info I should provide, please let me know.

Thank you for your help!
