Keyboard & Trackpad not working [KIP]

Im using Win10 on my HP Chromebook 11 G4s, one using UEFI, one RW_LEGACY (i was testing smth) but neither of their keyboards or trackpads work, aswell as battery not being detected, what can I do?

the documentation is explicitly clear, there is no support for running Windows via RW_LEGACY.

For the one running the UEFI firmware, ensure it’s on the latest version, connect an external keyboard/mouse, and provide some useful info.

Ohk. What info can/should i provide, also yes its latest version & has the required drivers (from coolstar)

step 1 would be to check Device Manager and ensure that you’re not missing any system drivers which would cause things not to work. If so, use WU and Snappy Driver Installer origin to install any missing ones. This is the kind of thing you have to do for any system when installing Windows.

how exactly may i tell if im missing system drivers from device manager, also what is WU & Snappt driver

(sorry if my questions are oblivious, but im new tho this hehe)

Trying to get Windows running on a Chromebook when you aren’t familiar with Windows installation/configuration/driver installation is a very difficult task. WU = Windows Update. Snappy is a 3rd party tool you can find by Googling. It’s pretty obvious when looking at Device Manager if there are missing drivers / devices not functioning properly. But also something that can be Googled.

Ah ok, thanks. If its ok can I send the info tomorrow as its late here😅 (im in timezone GST)

So i checked, the missing devices are Trackpad, keyboard, speaker, & battery. There are a bunch of listed ‘unknown device’ thoguh, im doing windows update rn so yeah

Done with windows update & snappy, no fix/same issue

if you are missing the drivers for touchpad, keyboard, and audio then you need to install coolstar’s.

post a pic of DM showing the non-functioning devices

Already installed coolstar drivers as mentioned earlier, also ill take a pic of the device mgr

here’s the images

well, this is where knowledge of windows drivers and how to troubleshoot is key, because trying to walk someone through this is absolutely painful

sorry what?

you know you could have just taken a screenshot, right?

obviously the 6 unknown devices are a problem. What does Snappy show when using it?

You need to determine what each device is and install the correct drivers.

didnt take a screenshot since its kinda painful to send with the lag in my Chromebook, as for snappy ill re run it again as i forgot what it said

So it turns out i forgot to run snappy😅, currently installing the drivers, 57 mins

So i installed all the drivers from snappy, no change sadly

sad panda indeed

Is it a doomed situation? // should i go back to linux?
