HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook battery drain issues at night

Hello, I’m currently encountering a problem: Moden Standby consumes a lot of power at night when the machine is idle, about 41% in 12 hours. The bottom cover also gets very warm when idle. I noticed that in UEFI, there’s an option to disable Moden Standby (S0ix), which switches to S3, but this doesn’t work in Windows; it remains in S0. Therefore, I’m unsure if this is a UEFI issue or if the new Intel chipset has abandoned S3. If so, how can I resolve the power consumption issue during hibernation, or would switching to Linux solve the problem?

last I checked, Windows can’t switch after install. If you want to use S3, Windows has to be installed with S3 selected, otherwise only S0ix will be available.

I can confirm that I have selected S3 in UEFI and reinstalled Windows. This time, S0 is unusable, and S3 still prompts that the system firmware does not support this standby state. I also searched for tutorials online and found a command that can force S3 to be enabled: reg add HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power /v PlatformAoAcOverride /t REG_DWORD /d 0

However, this does not work for my laptop.

IDK, I’m not a Windows guy. that’s coolstar’s domain
