I cant seem to figure out how to disable write protection, there is no jumper as far as I could see, there is no write screw, the flashrom –wp-disable command doesnt work its a cr2 chip with 4gb ram 128gb storage
there’s a reason we list all supported devices and the WP disable method for each one.
Running flashrom to disable software WP is never needed and not recommended.
Yes but I do not like ChromeOS I just went with it as It’s cheaper and I’ve disabled wp on an old chromebook so I figured it would be similar in process
what does any of that have to do what I posted?
You can’t change the os without disabling write protection
The battery didnt disable it so I assume its a jumper but I cannot locate it, Im asking anyone who might have this chromebook in specific and have disabled write protect, my chromebook is not currently listed on supported devices
The supported devices page is explicitly clear - support is determined by the Chrome OS board name, not make and model. since you have not provided the board name, there’s no way for anyone to know what device we’re dealing with and what the write protect disable method is.
