Firmware write-protect [AWASUKI - ASUS Chromebook CX1405CKA]

Hi :waving_hand: I’m kinda new to this Chromebook world, I’ve bought mine at a JBHiFi in Sydney for like 120$ and wanted to nerd around with it.

So to resume my situation:

Model : ASUS Chromebook CX1405CKA

Motherboard name : AWASUKI

Developer mode : :white_check_mark: Enabled

Full OS replacement : I’ve tried the battery removal only with no success, the firmware protection is still enabled so I’m guessing there’s actually a jumper to bridge or I need the cable but I’m not buying that.

Dual Boot : I’ve also tried this, using the utility script to install RW_LEGACY, using CRAP to give some space for the new OS, boot on the USB to install ZorinOS Lite, but on the installation I got an erno 5 saying it couldnt copy the files to my internal disk. Update : If I have to confirm each time to do another boot method, this method is not really interesting to me.

Anyway, I’m leaving a photo of the computer opened, if there’s a need to flip the motherboard, tell me and I’ll try to do it.

Thanks for the amazing work

According to the docs, suzyq is required. There may be a jumper but I don’t see one in the image.
